Thanks @andrijapau, I think there are some extra places that could be updated (requirements.txt and setup.py).
Also a changelog entry would be nice.

NumPy 1.X support was deprecated as of v0.44 release in PL and will be removed in PennyLaneAI/pennylane#8914.
